DAY THREE OF CYDES 2025 CONCLUDES WITH MINISTERIAL FORUM, STRATEGIC POLICY SESSIONS AND A HIGH-IMPACT CLOSING CEREMONY

 

Putrajaya, 3 July 2025 - The final day of the Cyber Defence & Security Exhibition and Conference (CYDES) 2025 concluded with high-impact engagements at the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy Forum 2025, gathering top national policymakers and global cyber experts.

The forum featured strategic discussions on:

• Ensuring a Safer Digital Malaysia, led by Minister of Communications, YB Datuk Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil

• Trusted Digital Infrastructure - involving the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), the National Digital Department (JDN) and Telekom Malaysia Global

• Cyber Security Talent Development and Capacity Building - involving the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), EC Council and Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad

• Countering Digital Crime - with panellists including the Chief Executive of the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti (UAE), the Deputy Director-General of the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre (NFCC) and leading legal experts.

 

BILATERAL ENGAGEMENTS STRENGTHEN CYBER DIPLOMACY

 

As part of the ASEAN Cybersecurity Cooperation Strategy Forum 2025, NACSA hosted a Malaysia-Russia Working Luncheon. The session served as a strategic platform for bilateral dialogue on cyber security policies, capacity building initiatives, information sharing and strengthening long-term cooperation.

 

CYDES 2025 DRAWS TO A CLOSE

 

The Closing Ceremony of CYDES 2025 was officiated by The Honourable Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia. The ceremony featured a three-day event highlights video and the prize presentation for winners of the Industrial Control Systems Capture-The-Flag (ICS CTF) competition.

In his closing remarks, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri emphasised: “CYDES 2025 affirms Malaysia’s commitment to becoming a secure and trusted digital nation through a combination of robust policies, international cooperation, and local talent development. The launch of the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy 2025–2030 and the active involvement of multiple stakeholders strengthen Malaysia’s role in advancing cyber resilience across the region.”

The CYDES 2025 exhibition recorded the participation of 304 exhibitors from 27 countries, showcasing a diverse range of cutting-edge solutions and technologies in cyber security. Key highlights included the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) booth, the ASEAN Pavilion, and the China Pavilion.
